Re: Mixed mode problem

Sorry to hear that. In my case the book has 32 pages (fairy-tale for childrens) with 1/3 text and 2/3 pictures on clean background. The pictures was in dark colors (because the story is on night) and almost all pictures becomes pale. I was forced to handle this book twice — in B/W and color mode â...

Re: Single camera method.

There was a commercial project with single (static) camera, mounted over the center of V-platen and three mirrors - two on left and right side and one (small) just under the camera. The small mirror is rotating at 90 degrees and redirect to left or right mirror.

Re: ST suggestions and feature requests go here.

The recommended workaround would be using picture zones and Mixed mode, then batch-converting to B/W using a 3rd party software if desired. Thanks, Tulon, but this will work only on very clean scans. It's much more easier to me to use B/W output without despeckling and cleaning noise with graphical...

Re: ST suggestions and feature requests go here.

I have two suggestions for improving: 1. When I have a page with text and bitonal images, I can't use despeckling - many dots from images are removed. So, if you can (for example) enable "Picture zones" tab in B/W output mode, there can be specified zones, where despeckling is not needed. 2. (This i...

Re: Paragraph issues

Yes, there is option in FR, called "Keep line breaks". You must turn it off. But even when this option is on, the character at the end of line is "soft return" (also "end of line"), not "end of paragraph". FR recognizes paragraphs very well (not perfect, but very well), so you don't need to remove f...

Re: HOW TO COMPRESS PDF FILES

@LMB
The size of PDF files, produced by Abbyy FineReader depends on export settings — only text&pictures, all page + text over… At least two of options are to produce PDF, where all pages are graphic representation of whole page, plus OCR-ed text — over or below this image.

I'm sorry, my english is not good and I still don't understand - what pause?
Switch to "output" stage and immediately set desired parameters; without delay.
