sodering wires

I opened up the insulation on my wires and ones red and the other is black. How do I know which one to cut and attach to the momentary switch?

improve contrast of images

I noticed with preview I was able to improve the photos I take of the book pages. The problems is I have to go through one by one and adjust the parameters. I was able with mac's automater to make this process slightly less tedious but the process still took about 25 minutes, to adjust 80 images. If...

i want to improve my OCR

I was working with preview and I saw that i could alter my image by increasing sharpness, contrast, that sort of thing. my ocr does a reasonably good job. it mostly makes a mistake when the lines are slightly warped. scan tailor sort of does a good job in correcting that but it is not 100%. ironical...

can't load sdm onto my sd card

scan tailor is so amazing!!!

I really want to thank Tulon for writing this amazing software. I'm using Abbyy to scan my books and although it does a good job about one in every 4 pages, the last 4 lines will usually be garbled because the lines are warped. but with scan tailor i'm proud to say that that problem is completely el...

are there any instructions?

Thanks Toulon for creating this software, however, I can't use it and I can find no instructions anywhere. I think that would seriously help. Maybe even a youtube video. I don't even know what DPI is. Thanks

Re: best setting for camera (too much light)

i was wrong. it was the fact that i rotated the images first, before i fed them into the OCR. that's what did the trick. In any case, it looks like i'm up to 99% now, which is where I want to be. i still have to figure out how to OCR the whole set in one try or program it to do it while i'm asleep.

Re: best setting for camera (too much light)

if i put them in the center of the page then that will literally blind the OCR so that it can't even read the letters. you can see in those photos that the more light there is, the less the OCR reads. but that's ok. i set the shutter speed to 1/3 a second, that seems to really help. i think i might ...

best setting for camera (too much light)

One of my camera's is just barely on the edge of functioning 100%. it will usually garble the last 4 lines of a book. i think the problem is with the lighting. when there's too much light, that blocks out some of the letters, when there's too little light, then the OCR won't be able to read some of ...
