Hi All Has anyone got any recent binaries, or a how to on compiling it for MacOS. I've read the four but most links I follow are dead, and most discussion took place 5+ years ago. Is there anything happening recently on this ? I just got a shiny new fast Macintosh and would really like to have had t...

Re: ST just for splitting pages

Yes please - This is the most wanted feature, I asked about this years ago. Scan Tailor has by far, the best page splitting algorithms. And the best way to correct any errors. The only way it can work currently is to run page split, and then just set up full content, and 0 margins, and save the ST f...

Scantailor output JPEG files?

Hi all I'm processing JPEG files and don't need the space and time to output the (fullcoulour) TIFS. The closest option is output in JPG compressed TIF, but then I have to convert using imagemagick to JPG. Can I get Scantailor to output JPGs directly? Can I extract the JPG data from the TIF without ...

Re: ideas on ST Picture Zone handling in mixed mode

Ok, I think you will have to do those two things separately. QuickPicZone can help you set custom picture zones in mixed mode with fewer clicks that doing so in the Scan Tailor GUI. But several things has to be in place for that to work. First you need only one book page per image. Second, if that ...

Re: ideas on ST Picture Zone handling in mixed mode

I have a project whereby I need to as one part of it, extract the pictures from my scanned books. What is the best way to do this ? Is it marking out the picture areas with the red box and then somehow reading back the coords from the XML file? The problem with that is it seems to refer to the maste...

Re: Software to join OCR single page PDF to multipage PDF

Hi

I think I tried PDFTK in the past, I'll try it again.

As for OS I have access to Linux / Windows so anything is OK, probably even a pref for a linux solution --- does anyone have any experience with WatchOCR?

Could I set up say 6 PCs and have a fast OCR setup?

Scantailor split and deskew

I'm impressed with the scantailor software, having used book restorer for a good while now. Is there a way I can fire a folder of images at it and have it split and deskew, save the job file and then quit? without interaction, i.e. scriptable ? I don't see how I can get it to process a set of images...
