Open software Windows 10 Processing in 2020
I had an older tutorial (2013!) which used Homer, a wrapper for Ruby/PdfBeads/Tessaract. Unfortunately this is no longer available so I needed to create a new process. I am IT competant but not skilled and only really use the Windows environment, I don't have time to learn linux or command line appr...

Re: HOMER installer no longer working?
Well I have to retract. I have just installed Homer using the Homer1.0Beta1 on a restored Window 8 machine and it is working fine.
With my last laptop Homer was working and I installed a computer game and Homer ceased working after this. There is obviously interaction going on with some programs.

Re: Scantailor output JPEG files?
I have used light resizer for batch conversion (you don't mention OS or Windows environment) with great ease and success in Windows. I don't recall what it did to the sizes however. In Windows, once installed there is a useful option added to a right click context box - click on an image and resize/...

Re: Book Liberator beta
My bookscanner is based on their design (initially named Bookripper(Bkrpr)) http://www.diybookscanner.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=562&p=5382&hilit=victoria#p5382 Yes it is a bit cumbersome and lighting is a difficulty however the design is very simple, quick to make and robust. I am o...

HOMER installer no longer working?
Hello Bookscannerians. I love Homer, it has previously just worked so well for having a simple interface to allow use of pdfbeads for tiny pdf output files. However over the last three months I have tried the installer package on one Mac and three PC computers without getting the program to work. Th...
