Re: Table of Contents: adding links to an existing TOC in a PDF?

Talked with another contact. They were able to do this easily with a professional package called Bluebeam. Of course, it's a $400/year subscription so it's not for me. They were able to process the document I wanted done. If I have to do this again, I might check into PDF Link Editor. I don't know a...

Re: Archivist & Co. scanning softcover books

Hi Bill, I know your design and was intrigued by it but I have built the book shooter MK-V . But I am intrigued by the archivist design being able to photograph two pages at once reducing the duration of the tedious task. But since I am mostly if not exclusively scanning thick-ish soft cover books ...

Table of Contents: adding links to an existing TOC in a PDF?

I have a PDF document where the Table of Contents page does not reference a page number but a specific code for each multipage document bound into the large (420 page) document. in other words the front 4 pages have a long list of entries like this: L001 - Document 1 Title L002 - Document 2 Title L0...

Re: Finereader - Delete everything outside of recognized text area?

As you mention there are two layers, image and text, any editing you do is in the text layer. ie has no effect on the image layer. What you want is to remove the image layer and only have the text layer. I do not believe Finereader will do this while saving to pdf, where the options are text either...

the quality of the photos was not acceptable for Concur expense reports. interesting. our concur is setup so that you register an email address you'll send receipt pictures "from" in the Concur system for your profile. Then you just snap a photo with phone and email it to a companywide em...

Finereader - Delete everything outside of recognized text area?

Greetings, Anyone know if there's a way to set finereader so that it removes everything outside of the recognized text areas? Once the text is recognized and is confirmed, I would like it to delete all the noise outside the recognized area (right hand side, junk under the largest section in the head...

Re: Minimalist inexpensive design - 60 euros, 60 mn to build, 600 pages per hour

Yes, you have to put down the phone and pick it up again. But since the whole idea is to NOT have fixed mounted cameras, and make use of those clever auto-capture apps, this is a non-issue. And the app is really the winner here, since in 1 or 2 seconds it auto-frames and snaps the page. Thanks very...

Re: Help...novice scanner using iOCHOW camera scanner

My pixel does take nice photos and the stand I have works well so I just think I need to get more creative with the book positioning to get the right angle, which is hard to do with just the tips of my fingers. The press glass might help but I'm afraid it might create too much glare. You might want...

Re: Help...novice scanner using iOCHOW camera scanner

I'm not sure if it was just because it was a free trail but Abbyy was limiting me on how many pages I can OCR. This is definitely a trial issue. My FineReader Pro 12 is only limited by system resources... but even a several hundred page book is handled fine on a system with a very old quad core AMD...

Agreed this is why Daniel Reetz chose the V shaped cradle.. to avoid this exact problem... all the way back to the Dumpster Dive Scanner...
