What is the error that you get? Is it not loading at all?
I think I managed to make it run, but I remember it was randomly showing me some error message and then closing itself down.

Re: Scantailor preprocess script
The first failure is that it's not calibrating properly. From what I can see, it's trying to convert JPG (case sensitive) to ppm files. At the end of the script, it deletes the PPM files, so the first thing I'd check is that it is actually making those conversions in the first place etiher by comme...

Re: PPM tools from mhr
Thank you for your prompt response I could compile ppmunwarp Then proceeded to do a test with 2 photos+calibration photo. But I ran your script as I used to do and, again, I found that anything was done (0 bytes calibration.bin and the preprocess.log file, but no resulting calibrated photos) Your ca...

Re: PPM tools from mhr

Re: Questions on Building a simple paperback scanner
Yes, my camera has CHDK support. Until now I was only locking the focus, but in the camera menu (not in CHDK)
I will try taking the photos with the camera far away from the book as you said, and see the results.
Thank you.

Re: New Scanning Software - YASW
The image is decompressed from jpeg, goes thought every filter and then the jpeg transformation is done only at the end. So the cropping filter itself is lossless (it gets an uncompressed image and produces an uncompressed image, without dpi modification) but the last jpeg transformation is not. Ro...

Re: Questions on Building a simple paperback scanner
I would also not design a scanner that couldn't take larger sized books. Sooner or later, you'll want to scan something bigger, and you'll have to build a whole new rig then. I agree with that. What is the distance between your camera and the book? And, can you "lock" the shutter speed to...

Thank you for your program!
About the cropping filter: Is it lossless? (jpg files as input > crop > export to jpeg)
Thanks

Re: Scantailor preprocess script
ii) Thanks for posting the 11x17 and 11x14 calibration sheets - however when I printed them out, it appears that the printed area does not change and is the same size as 8.5x11. Could you please check your .eps code ? Did you print eps files or pdf files? (I ask this because I don't know if you can...

Re: Scan Tailor "Enhanced"
Hi! Thanks for bringing new updates of this great program! Both Pictureshape algorithms yield worse results (both the 'free' and 'rectangular') for me. Same exact page and the 'free' algorithm incorrectly identifies text as a 'picture zone', the 'rectangular' algorithm identifies the entire page as ...
