Re: DPI calculation to compensate for incorrect zoom setting

Does Gimp or any of the other tools, provide a way to find out the physical size at which a picture will print (given the DPI) ? GIMP does. Image -> Print Size, then just fool with the width/height or the x/y. Sorry, I haven't read through the rest of the thread to know what all you're asking. I ju...

NSW Govt to open source digital archives software

I just caught this article while going through some of my morning news feeds: http://www.itnews.com.au/News/294188,nsw-govt-to-open-source-digital-archives-software.aspx . (Austrialian IT site, so I'm guessing NSW is a state/province/section of Australia?) Not to many details in the article about wh...

Re: Introducing djvubind for djvu file creation

I just put up the next stable version of djvubind (1.2.0), which can be downloaded from the project's download page . A debian package will not be available until sometime after March 11th, because I'm away from my desktop and the virtual machine that I create/test the debian package in. I strongly ...

Re: merging pdfs from a one sided scanner

Ahaha... wow. I just purchased a new multifunction printer yesterday. My old one could do duplex ADF scanning but the new one sadly can't (at least in Linux, I swear reviews said it could scan duplex... or maybe it only copies duplex for some reason). In my spare moments throughout the day I've been...

Re: Missing OCR text in djvubind?

Thank you both. Glad to see that it wasn't a character set problem, and should have only affected lines with a single word in them. A fix has been made in the repository. Once I see if I can clear out some other issues easily, there should be a new release. @Anonymous2: This would be a really good t...

Re: Post something about yourself here (The Hello Thread)

I've looked over countless plans available in this community, and the one thing I've seen missing is aesthetic appeal. I want to build a scanner, and I want to build something I can be proud of. I want a device I can display in my library; one that is pragmatic in its application and beautiful in a...

Re: Missing OCR text in djvubind?

All of that should be handled by djvubing/ocr.py. A good starting place is Tesseract.analyze() (line 385 in the repo version).

Re: Missing OCR text in djvubind?

Thank you for reporting this and giving me an image to test. I can confirm the bug on my machine and have opened an issue on the djvubind issue tracker. You can get email notifications on any updates there if you star the issue, but I do plan to update this thread once everything is fixed. This is a...

Re: Introducing djvubind for djvu file creation

Cuneiform constantly segfaults and crashes for me, so I think it might be cuneiform's fault, not djvubind's. Yes, that is definitely cuneiform's fault. From my experience, cuneiform crashes upwards of 90% of the images I give it on a 64-bit Linux platform (32-bit does much better, but not perfect) ...

Re: Site Reorganization (HELP PLEASE)

I wouldn't worry about narrowing software by operating system or output format... most of the applications are cross-platform and some will work with different formats (hopefully more in the future!), so organizing by those lines will be impossible. Any thought of having subforums? General Tutorials...
