Nice Archivist build post at the r/datahoarder subreddit
I stumbled on a post on r/datahoarder documenting an Archivist scanner build and a subsequent scan project. Make sure to click through to the Imgur gallery for lots of photos and text. Not sure what that person's username here is, but nice work! https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/euyvnj/i...

Re: Edge cleaning?
I have been seeking something (Linux command line batch style) that cleans the edges of .jpg scans. Something that just replaces a few millimeters on the left and right with white. Not a Linux utility but BookCrop https://github.com/nod5/BookCrop has a scrub mode where you draw a rectangle over the...

Re: An improved DIY book scanner
Nice build! In addition, for protecting my intellectual property, I’ve filed a patent application in China (201910185742.9, filed on March 12, 2019). What exactly do you claim a patent for here? IANAL but it seems to me that every feature shown in the video, except perhaps the details of your moving...

Re: TwoCamControl - fast two camera chdkptp photos (Windows)
Yes like bartek158 suggested install the driver on the cameras separately. - Plug in only the first camera via USB to the Windows PC, power on the camera and then install LibUSB driver using these instructions http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/PTP_Extension#LibUSB_Driver_for_Windows . That page also has st...

Re: TwoCamControl - fast two camera chdkptp photos (Windows)
Am I suppoed to download all 3 links? mainly I'm asking about "souce code (zip)" and "source code (tar.gz)" Do I need both? You only need TwoCamControl.exe from that page. And also in the Help section of TCC under DEPENDENCIES step 5 reads; "5. Only if you want to run/build...

Re: How to convert a book to serchable pdf using open source software
Yes, but a (very slow) work in progress.
Thanks also for the link to https://github.com/SiddharthPant/booky , useful tool. When I have time I'll try to make a version that uses tab indentation to set levels instead of using brackets.

Re: TwoCamControl - fast two camera chdkptp photos (Windows)
I do think that error is because the SX130IS lack filewrite support. See the "No" in 4th column for the line SX130IS here http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CameraFeatureTable . You can try using TwoCamControl without direct download of images to the PC. Instead you'd then save them to the SD card...
