I used my ix500 to scan postcards , about a second for both sides of the card . Worked well. It is very fast scanning since it is done in hardware.
Postcards could probably even be batched in groups of 10, say , I vae not tried batching , just guessing it would be ok.

Consider, librarians obviously concerned with potential damage to items and distracting other library users etc
Tripods probably banned because they think they will get in peoples way ... etc

Could Try a Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500
and then some indexing and search software

Have you scanned many books with the software in the VM?

can you save as RAW

If so they could be converted to TIFF

im having a lot of trouble getting 2 x Canon Powershot A2500 Camera's i have managed to get one, but can not get another a2500..... i have 2 x cannon g15 powershot camera's , i assume these are a more recent camera, but probably more expensive. is it possible they could be offically supported.? 'im ...
