Re: Books anyone?

suryandaru, I love your idea for helping preserve books and knowledge in your country. I have always been interested in preservation of historical artifacts books and other papers/textiles are difficult to preserve especially in climates that have a lot of humidity. I have been trying hard to learn ...

Re: Using a book scanner for non books (single sheets)?

That flat scanner is beautiful. I am definately going to have to try and make one. All I know is that I did a bunch of searching for information about scanning historical documents and everything I found said that using a flat direct light scanner is worse for the document. That the better scanner t...

Re: Using a book scanner for non books (single sheets)?

yeah I dont want to run these pages through a normal flatbed scanner because they are historical documents and the direct light will damage them. The scanner with a camera is safer for them. Re: Using a book scanner for non books (single sheets)?

I was mostly concerned about positioning of a single sheet in the V. I was wondering if it would slide down too much or not stay in a good position as easily and if so how would these things be fixed.

Using a book scanner for non books (single sheets)?

I am wondering if any of you have ever tried scanning single sheets and non book papers with your book scanners? I am wondering how well this worked and if there were any significant problems incurred and what those problems were. Thanks.

Re: Photocopier-pc-connected

I see, It seems like a controversial battle then. It just seems like a huge waste. I personally would like to be able to scan books to I can take them with me places without carrying a ton of them around everywhere. I however will not be getting of the books that I currently own. I paid for my books...

Re: Photocopier-pc-connected

Just to those who make comments about scanning and tossing. If you are going to get rid of the books after you have scanned them how about donating them to some kind of group that deals with the less fortunate who dont have money for books and especially dont have money for electronic equipment for ...
