Re: Build-Godisgr8t!'s Scanner

Hi everyone! Just a little update. Our first camera came today, a Canon EOS Rebel XS. We were debating between the Rebel and the Canon Powershot SX1 IS. The SX1 was the best camera that supports the SDM Hack, but we found out we could get remote switches for our Rebels so we went with the higher qua...

Re: Suggest improvements to the site here.

Hi Dan,
I was wondering: did you want me to start my build in the "Master Index"? Or is it okay in the general "Hardware" section? Thanks!

Build-Godisgr8t!'s Scanner

Hello everyone, I'm opening this thread for my build and will post my questions, comments, and progress (hopefully) here. I'm building this scanner for a guy who has published some books and would like to digitize them, so hopefully I'll have some content to upload (with his permission). Ciao!

Re: Suggest improvements to the site here.

Hello Dan, I'm a kinda a noob at all this but I had an idea. If you could have a Camera topic page link from the index page(like the Hardware, Software, Scan Tailor, etc. links) instead of posts about cameras being mixed in with the other posts in the Hardware page, how would that work? I realize ca...

Re: Minimum Camera for Book Scanning

Dan, At the beginning of this thread you said this in a post: "I still think the Powershot A590 IS is the best camera for the job in terms of price and performance." My questions are: 1)Is this still the best camera for the job in your opinion? and 2)I didn't see the A590 in the list of cameras supp...

Re: Digitization blog

Misty: Is there somewhere on your blog that I can see some images of your work? Or is most of it copyrighted and you can't post it? I need to get some some web links to a guy who I'll be building a scanner for, but he wants to be reassured that he will be able to get professional work without to muc...

Re: Suggest improvements to the site here.

Hey Dan, I think it would be awesome to see a thread in "book projects" of example images of your best work by your opinion. I'm doing research on scanners for a guy who has published some books and he wants to make sure he can make good enough "scans" with a setup based on your systems. I'd kinda l...

Re: Can you please give me feedback on a "new" homepage?

Yeah, sounds like a great idea to me. Plays fine on my pc with vista sp2/firefox 3.6 though I do have some addons(flash, etc) on firefox. For some odd reason, it took outrageously long to buffer (I have dsl @ 3mb/sec ) don't know whose end the hangup was on though. Cheers! :D

Re: Post something about yourself here (The Hello Thread)

Hello everyone, This is Lamar(known as Godisgr8t! on this forum). I'm looking into making a scanner for a man who has published some books that he would like to digitize efficiently. Right now I'm looking for example shots and photos, mainly ones online so that I can give him a web address so he can...
