Re: script to auto-split two scanned pages in single pages

Thanks for the clarifications. I have them both installed on Windows right now, but I will try it out on linux later on. It does seem very useful. Thanks again.

Re: script to auto-split two scanned pages in single pages

I'm not sure how to use this. Is this something that you enter from the command line or do you have to put this somewhere in graphicsmagick/imagemagick? I didn't see a way to include it in either of the magicks displays.

Sorry, I'm still trying to learn and understand about programming things.

Re: Best camera for 300 EUR.

That camera seems fine for bookscanning. It really depends on the type of build you want to design and what software you want to use. I think the preferred method that people here have is something similar to the new standard model where they use CHDK and/or SDM to control their cameras. If you were...

Re: Methods To Sense The 3D Surface/Structure Of A Book

Ok so here is how I have a regular laser pointer setup using the arm piece of the clear protractor if anyone is interested. laser setup.JPG Here is another picture of the lines it makes. visible line.JPG And then here it is showing the lines on a book. I had to take two pictures and overlay one on t...

Re: Methods To Sense The 3D Surface/Structure Of A Book

L0gicm0del, that's a great find. Is it the part of the protractor you are shining through cylindrical, or half-cylindrical in shape? It is a half-cylindrical shape. I'm not sure I could get a clear enough picture that is close enough, but I will try to post another picture tomorrow showing the line...

Re: Methods To Sense The 3D Surface/Structure Of A Book

I was playing around with different things and I found that if you use a regular laser pointer and aim it through a clear protractor, that it makes a laser line. I'm sure there are a bunch of other household items that provide such a display if anyone is interested in playing with lasers using exist...

Project Sikuli

Has anyone heard of Project Sikuli? It is a scripting program that looks at visual information and images on the screen and then you can program it to find and do anything with them. It is really interesting. I wonder if you could input images of each letter of your handwriting and have near perfect...

Re: Camera mount w/air trigger

That is a really cool setup. I was thinking when I get another camera to maybe use a solenoid to trigger the press, and that way it wouldn't have to worry about compatibility issues with CHDK and could use any camera. What are you using to push the air through? Also, how do you control for the press...

Re: Methods To Sense The 3D Surface/Structure Of A Book

What if you were to run a tangent line to the maximum points of the curves of each of the segments that were parallel to the words on each page and have the dewarping only go up to the point of the tangent line to prevent the over-warping that is at the edges of the pages? Just thinking out loud. Al...
