Re: Platen: Glass or plastic

Well i luckily don't have that problem given the DIY store here offers glass or acrylic free cut to size (as long as the cuts are at 90 degree angles)

Re: Platen: Glass or plastic

Would the glue that is used in constructing aquariums be a good adhesive for the glass/wood/metal interface ? Or do you guys use just plain epoxy glue ?

Platen: Glass or plastic

Hello all,

I see that most builds use plastic platen.

Is plastic the best material for platen or would (unscratcheable) glass be better ?

Thanks,

And to make it encompass a whole 7 inches of sharpness, I needed an 8 foot tall tower (I didn't build it). Point-and-shoot cameras have less problems, as...

As you can see from other posts i'm considering building a bookscanner. Fort the camera's i'm willing to spend up to 300 eur. in a first phase i will use only one camera and later add a second one if i'm happy with the results. So the question for me is: what camera is best for me in that price cate...

Re: CANON IXUS 105

Thank you for the info. I'll go into the library this week and get an idea of the sizes of the typical books. Also i lend a 10 mpix camera from someone to experiment a bit with. Also i want to keep this project on a tight budget, so i might end up buying only one camera of better quality and spend a...
