Re: Computer hardware (cpu, gpu) to support software?

Interesting. I even found my yasw folder with the exe and my test mentioned in the other post. I've got an 86 page PDF of "white squares in the middle" of the PDF view in Reader. I took a chapter of a book and tried to get left and right pages to be put together.

Re: Computer hardware (cpu, gpu) to support software?

I found my post. http://www.diybookscanner.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3002&start=40 So I was using YASW. Re: new here, thinking about a book scanner

http://image.architonic.com/img_pro2-1/117/4092/fsb-13-4227-b.jpg I wonder if I could make it myself. It's just little pieces of metal with a screw pointed at the glass. A piece of rubber between the screw and glass might help. Haha... El cheapo... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Naf9c7UU9RU/TVlHWPdKkEI/A...

Re: A new scanner design using plastic tubing

jdealla, what size pvc pipe is that? 1"? It looks like 1"in the pics. I was debating between 1" vs. 3/4" before.

Re: new here, thinking about a book scanner

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Who knows? Except it's thick glass and curved. Still thinking about using real, 1% non-reflective glass on my scanner. I was wondering about acrylic clips for it... http://askville.amazon.com/FIND-MUSEUM-PICTURE-FRAM-CLIPS/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=6617572 http://ww...
