Re: Simple, easy to build, ~600pg/hr, very portable scanner
Thank you for your interest my scanner design. You said: My reference is the 16 Apr 2017 version 004 pdf manual for the v.2.1 scanner, downloaded from here. In this manual, I've seen that on-going discussion on the scanner could be found on the site http://po.st/tiflicbookscanner, but it's not activ...

Re: Original ~600pg/hr, very portable scanner now achieving ~900pg-1100pg/hr
Do you think a hinge would help? I mean add a hinge to the right hand side of the glass and a base board, so you can easily lift the glass and put it down again without it moving out of position. If the camera arm was mounted to the same base board it would automatically position the book in the ri...

Re: Original ~600pg/hr, very portable scanner now achieving ~900pg-1100pg/hr
Here is version 2.4.4 of the "Image scaling and left+right numbering" script I wrote. It fixes a few bugs I ran into in v2.4, which was the last I posted a while back. ; V2.4.2 ; -- Changed -- For multiprocessor, run gm.exe at normal priority so machine doesn't lock up while it processes t...

Re: Archivist & Co. scanning softcover books
You might want to take a look at this video of the scanner I designed: https://diybookscanner.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=20596#p20596 I scan a softcover book (at time index 2:00) as well as a book with text very close to the spine (at time index 4:00) with no issues. With my scanner, you do need to s...

Re: Scanner in a Briefcase
LOL. You're off by a factor of 60. Sigh. One can dream. LOL That’s a fascinating and smart design. Thanks I noticed the thread has some discussion on post-processing output from a single-camera setup, which answers a lot of my questions about how that would work. I created some software that's post...

Re: Scanner in a Briefcase

Re: Original ~600pg/hr, very portable scanner now achieving ~900pg-1100pg/hr
Those of you who have followed the evolution of my scanner may recall the original version, before I started using a smart-phone camera, used Daniel Reetz' bike bike brake idea to trigger the shutter of the small point-and-shoot camera I used. The hardware needed to fasten the shutter trigger mechan...
