Re: What is the current non-crashing version?
Thanks, that is somewhat more stable although in a 2 hour session I found it would run for a while and then suddenly freeze with no warning require multiple reboots. It also doesn't seem to work with my foot pedal like some previous versions. Anybody else have a suggestion for a "good vintage?&...

What is the current non-crashing version?
Some days I am in the mood to debug but today I just need to get some scans done. I down loaded the SpreadPi marked "latest" which is dated 27 May. I can maybe get one scan session done if I time the reboots correctly but its mostly just sitting there wedged (hit submit...nothing happens.....

Re: So let's be serious...
So I have another project and I am trying Scan Tailor again. To be precise Scan Tailor "Enhanced" 14 Feb. 2014 A lot of my frustrations are that I can't get the thing to behave. It seems to have a mind of its own on batch commands. The worst currently is Deskew. I keep telling it that I wa...

Archivist Will Travel
Woot had one of their regular sales of industrial carts so I decided to buy one for my Archivist since it is being claimed as a community resource these days. http://tools.woot.com/offers/wen-service-cart-500lb-capacity-11 The challenge is that it doesn't quite fit within the rim of the cart so I ha...

ScanTailor Direct to Epub or Mobi?
I am having reasonable luck with Spreads -> ScanTailor -> Acrobat but would like a .mobi or .epub option. I know I can run the .pdf through Calibre but the .mobi is usually messed up and the Calibre author doesn't even recommend that path. The Amazon CLI stuff doesn't seem to understand image files....

Re: Reconfigure Cards
You are correct the serial number does work if you use "-s=" instead of the "s=" I was using. In my defense the "tutorial" doesn't contain one example of an actual command line. The Daniel method also works although I just powered off the cameras one at a time rather th...

Re: Reconfigure Cards
Ok well chdkptp seemed easy enough on the surface but I couldn't come-up with the right string to connect to the 2nd camera. I can list both. And when I do a connect 1 I connect to a camera and do the operations. However any time I tried to connect using id info from the list command it "couldn...

ABBYY Seems to Be On Sale
I wasn't going to buy it at $169 but they have it on sale for $99 for the full pro version. Other versions/upgrades seem to be on sale too.

Reconfigure Cards
Now that I have begun working with actual books I see that my pages are reversed. I would rather not unmount the cameras to switch SD cards since everything is lined up already. Is there anyway to configure spreads to permanently switch odd and even?

Spreads Camera Lighting Control
For now I am sticking to the web version. It has been suggested that I adjust the cameras for the proper lighting on my scanner (new LED archivist lights). Since the cameras are completely under the control of the Pi I assume there is either a camera control or filter string I enter into some field....
