Re: Has anyone ever gotten Spreads/SpreadPi to work properly
For the exact same reason as Datamads I'm also very interested in a simpler/more reliable/plug-and-play type solution. I assembled an Archivist kit last April with all the recommended components and still have yet to get it operational because of software side issues. I and a rotating cast of IT pro...

Re: Archivist User Guide
This is a great start - and very welcome as I try to get the software side up and running and start to use the Archivist.
I'll try to track information that I think will be important to include.
Thanks for putting it together.

Re: SpreadPi: The new DIY Book Scanner control system.
I do know that Johannes has been working like mad on the new version of Spreads, refactoring a lot of code and such. So the nightly build is probably not that stable. I am hoping that I will have time to help him finish up and get to a stable release version within the next month or so. We need som...

Re: RaspberryPi 2
Thanks, Steve. Glad to know I wasn't missing something. To clarify - did the 25-Apr image work on your RPi 2 or on the B+?steve1066d wrote:Then I tried the latest image with a B+, that failed, but then went back to the April 25 image, and that one worked for me.

RaspberryPi 2
I haven't seen much chatter on here about RPi 2 - has anyone gotten it to work with the current builds of SpreadPi? I've been working on it unsuccessfully and am just about to drop back to a B+. My SD install runs perfectly on a B+, but when put into a 2 it either gives a kernel error before Spreads...

Re: Workflow & Filetype for a Cookbook collection
Thanks duerig and BruceG. I had to do some work travel so I'm just picking this back up and am delayed by a struggle to get SpreadPi software up and running on my RPi 2 - so nothing to report just yet. I'm going to start with the Spreads -> ScanTailor -> Acrobat workflow and will report back.

Re: SpreadPi: The new DIY Book Scanner control system.
duerig - were you able to get SpreadPi up and running on your RPi2 with just a current nightly or did you need to do some tweaking? I'm starting with an RPi2 and keep getting kernel errors almost immediately - though I was able to get the same SD card running just fine on a friend's RPi B+. I'm tryi...

Workflow & Filetype for a Cookbook collection
After following the boards and doing about 6mo of research, I have just finished assembling an Archivist, installed CHDK on two cameras and installed SpreadPi on a RaspberryPi 2. It actually went faster than I expected so now I'm at the software stage unexpectedly. My first project with the scanner ...
