Re: My new "Tower" Scanner

An interesting scanner would be interesting to see more pictures and different angles. I am jealous of you who know how to build a great scanners! :-)

Re: One or two cameras in the scanner...

CHDK can be complicated to install in the general case because there are so many different cameras and firmware versions it supports. However, things are somewhat easier for ELPH 160 cameras in particular (which is why I recommend them). Take a look at the Pi Scan documentation here: https://github...

Re: One or two cameras in the scanner...

If you have just one camera, things become much easier. You may not need the Raspberry Pi at all, for example. If you already have an IXUS 160 camera, I can give you some advice about how to best use it. If you don't have an IXUS 160 camera, you might want to look for a camera with built-in remote ...

One or two cameras in the scanner...

I thought that CHDK would be a fairly easy thing but it has started to affect that it may not be that! Not at all for me when I do not really know English ... But I wonder if I can use a single Ixus 160 with CHDK and Pi 2/3 of a computer and a leg pedal? I am very fond of thinking about that which o...

Re: Footsie Bookscanner

Hey Malcolm! How high is the book when it's down? How high are the LED lights from glass disks?
A really brilliant idea to lift the book Cradle with the rope up! Easy to build and look good to work! Thanks to Malcolm for sharing this!

Re: Footsie Bookscanner

Would it be useful if the book cradle would rise up on two ropes up? Which is the better rigid book cradle or more flexible? This book scanner is of interest to me and I will try this idea and build my own version. I'm just a poor time to build anything from wood or other exceptions ... But I'm goin...

Re: Archivar - wooden scanner based on Archivist

It would be interesting to get more information about Archivar, Size and Price Range, and so on. Archivist and Archivar are big and complicated, albeit nicely designed. But for me, a little simpler book scanner would suffice. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPBBzKNXBIA But the difficult...

Re: Archivar - wooden scanner based on Archivist

Thanks! I am happy to hear that! Were working on everything to get ready, we move into our new workshop in November! We will tell you as soon as we accept orders! What will you be using the scanner for? By the way, Archivar is able to to paperback-mode while still having the proper lighting! And we...

Re: My new diy book scanner using two cameras!

Well designed, the scanner is stylish! I've also been thinking about the same type of scanner, but it would have been more boring looking ... Is that Ixus160 cameras? Could it be slightly magnified that you could scan a few bigger books? And can acrylic plates replace glass? Have you tried how many ...
