I'm certain that I'm not alone in my appreciation and understanding that buttloads of free unpaid effort went into bringing this to the community. I have a question regarding the scanner dimensions. Hypothetically, if i wanted to increase the si...

Re: how do i change page numbers of a compiled PDF?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfsam/

Opensource and free. Takes a little bit of trial and error to learn, but it's effective. Also able to edit pdf files regardless of which version / format of Adobe Acrobat the original was created in.

Re: Hand Scanner Setup

I had that exact scanner for a few days while I was building my first bookscanner. It didn't work well: - Like a flatbed scanner there is an edge all the way around the optic window and the scanner couldn't get into the inside gutters of the books... especially paperbacks. - You have to roll the sca...

Thank you... all of you. I'm scanning all kinds of one and two column texts, with and without pictures. You guys are maki...

Re: 'Pyramid'-shaped scanners (Tamtus, Atiger)

$1300 to $1600 price tag (http://www.teleread.com/paul-biba/tamtu ... k-scanner/).

I guess it's a type of flatbed scanner that uses software to account for / correct keystoning, and relies on book placement to eliminate page curving.
