Re: More Megapixels than before

I want to point out here for scann that quite a few people on this forum use the a480 (10MPs) and are quite happy with it. If money is an issue, you can get these cameras quite cheap. New about 140 on Amazon and 90 and up on ebay. Used ebay has them for 55 and up. I'd also like to point out that onc...

Re: The New "Standard Scanner"

That's great! Could you post a pic? When you get your camera mounts made, I'd love to see pics of that too.

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time

I'm wondering if you're actually having the same problem Gerad was having. His cards weren't sending any pictures at all until he either took a break or finished his sessions. Basically he couldn't be taking pictures and having them stream at the same time. It sounds like you can, but your pics are ...

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time

I don't know what would be causing that problem. Have you updated the card's firmware? Have you tried asking around the eye-fi forums? Contacting customer support? How far away from your router are you? Any other information on your setup you can provide?

Re: how do i change page numbers of a compiled PDF?

You may want to repost this in the software section. Also, what program are you using?

I use Abbyfinereader. If the page numbers were in the pictures as I was scanning, they'll be in the final pdf. As far as changing the pdf's page numbers so it matches the book, I'm not sure you can do that.

Re: Questions rumbling in my head

I use eye fi cards. I have had a few issues with them. Sometimes endless memory mode doesn't work and the cards fill up. I recently ran into a problem where my software router changed it's name via an update and my transfer speed plummeted because the cards were defaulting to my living room router. ...

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time

I went ahead and scanned a 300 page hardback focusing on maximum speed versus religiously checking the monitors. The whole thing took less than ten minutes and the cards matched pace beautifully.

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time

Yes. When I first started, if I thought I had missed a page or accidentally done a page twice, I could just wait a few seconds for the transfer to finish and check. However, it should be noted that I never set a breakneck pace like some of the scanners here.

More Megapixels than before

I recently scanned a paperback book that was physically smaller than any book I'd ever scanned before. On optimal zoom, I managed to get the entire page except for the page numbers. When I OCR'd the book, it took a surprisingly short amount of time to finish the spell check and the manual checks I p...

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time

Okay I figured out what the problem was. When I installed the latest Connectify update, it changed the name of my software router to "Connectify-Drake-Ravensmith". My eye-fi cards obviously didn't follow this change so they were defaulting to my desktop router upstairs. So I guess I would take a pic...
