Re: Scan Tailor "Enhanced"

Not sure if this is the problem but I've built enhanced version on windows 7 and don't have XP around. You can try to build from sources.

Re: Does GUI version take startup parameters?

oops, the first step uses scantailor-cli, of course :-)
it is not necessary to execute both steps from the same directory. you can also run scantailor gui without project file as an argument and open it from gui.

Re: Does GUI version take startup parameters?

Only in two steps. Step 1: scantailor -o=project_file.ScanTailor /path/to/files/*.tif out/ (the last parameter must be an existing directory) This will process all given images and save result in 'project_file.ScanTailor' and processed files into given 'out' directory. For more info run scantailor -...

Re: B/W source - how to keep format?

Try mixed mode. If the file size is problem then you can reduce number of gray tones using imagemagick like this: convert out/page.tif -depth 2 -quality 100 page.png This will create page.png which should have only 4 gray tones but looks usualy good. I get this result from scantailor+ convert: http:...

Re: Scan Tailor "Enhanced"

Both Pictureshape algorithms yield worse results (both the 'free' and 'rectangular') for me. Same exact page and the 'free' algorithm incorrectly identifies text as a 'picture zone', the 'rectangular' algorithm identifies the entire page as a 'picture zone' but original version 0.9.10 from Talon's ...

Re: Scan Tailor "Enhanced"

Hello. I tried the AUTO margins options on a 841 pages book and it hanged on me (at least Scan Tailor was not responding). Running on Windows 7 32 bits (4GB RAM). Any ideas? I waited for several minutes (maybe not enough) but I didn't see any progress bar nor anything else. There was a bug. Try new...

Re: Scan Tailor "Enhanced"

Is this release stable enough for general use? Is there a git tag I can use to pull the code in this release? If so, I was going to add this as a build option in Homebrew so Mac users can easily try out the development release. Misty, I'm using ScanTailor mostly on linux and with the cli version I'...

Would it be possible to create on SF new folder for such releases?

There is an example:

The original "free shape" mode:
scantailor-freeshape.cut.400.jpg
scantailor-freeshape.cut.400.jpg (28.61 KiB) Viewed 29945 times
and "rectangular shape" mode:
scantailor-rectangularshape.cut.400.jpg
scantailor-rectangularshape.cut.400.jpg (23.98 KiB) Viewed 29945 times
Both screen-shots are taken with Picture Zones enabled.

Scan Tailor "Enhanced"

Hi, I've been working on some new ScanTailor features which are in git repository but they are not included in any ScanTailor release yet. I've prepared this development release that you can test and use it if you find it useful. This release: Tiff compression option allows to disable compression in...
