Re: DIY kit assembly

Here's the pullies, at a whopping $4.94 from Home Depot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27512369/bookscanner/DIYscanner%20028.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27512369/bookscanner/DIYscanner%20029.jpg The inner diameter of the bearings in these won't accomodate the bolts. Smaller bolt or different pullies are ...

Re: DIY kit assembly

Note for those keeping track: two cans of paint isn't enough. I'm almost done painting, but I need to pick up a third can to finish.

Edit: I have been double-coating everything to keep it consistent.

Re: A DIY Book Scanner In Every Hackerspace /DIY Kit

Regarding the halogen lighting: Since the wood frame for the lights has a recessed lip to hold each of the two 5.5" light shrouds, wouldn't it be possible to throw a makeshift bracket on there to latch the light fixtures into place? It would probably still be too tall to work in paperback mode, but ...

Re: DIY kit assembly

Drilling is progressing quite nicely. Noticed a few things: 1. #8 wood screws don't have a wide enough head to attach bearings to the book holder: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27512369/bookscanner/DIYscanner%20017.jpg 2. Are these two different orientations of the bike handle holder? http://dl.dropbox.co...
