Re: Book Scan Wizard

Windows vista.

I went to the java website and it told me to uninstall an older version that I still had installed (version 6, update 7 I think). I did that I tried running it again and still no luck.

Also, followed your instructions above and got the same error message when running the file. Do I need to re-install java?

Re: Batch Processing in Gimp?

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm trying to install BSW, but am having some trouble (I posted my problem in the BSW thread). If I understand what BSW does, my only qualm is that my bkrpr build does not ensure that the book page will occupy the same position in every picture, so auto-cropping might n...

Under the "exception" tab, it states: JNLParseException[ Could not parse launch file. Error at line 0.] at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unkn...

Gimp has a plugin for correcting barrel distortion, so I'm hoping it's not too complicated to ask gimp to run this pro...

Re: Acrobat Tips

I don't know how exactly Acrobat uses Ram, but I've found its ocr performance depends a lot on how clean the text is. This isn't just an image quality issue, but sometimes an issue with the printed material itself. I have mass market paperbacks in which the ink of a printed letter commonly touches t...

Re: Basic Guide to Workflow ?

The only way I think I could be happier is to learn that Acrobat also has a batch option... Haven't looked back at the thread in a while. Glad the Clearscan option seems to be helpful. I just wanted to mention that in Acrobat, if you have a document open and go to the "OCR text recognition" task un...
