Re: Most Efficient Workflow / Process Available Currently

Since I haven't updated this post lately, and because I've been working on the software side of this workflow a *lot* lately, it now seems to me that the fastest and easiest way to convert your images to e-books (i.e. PDF using Scantailor and ABBYY FineReader) is ... (sorry, shameless plug follows) ...

Updated: DIY E-book Creator 0.0.3

New features: 1. Import also rotates images properly for scantailor 2. After Scantailor completes, it opens for you to adjust output 3. After you close Scantailor, ABBYY Finereader opens and creates PDF 4. Show a Before and After thumbnail in progress bar New problems: 1. Features #1 and #4 use PIL,...

Updated: DIY E-Book Creator 0.0.2

I just updated the DIY E-Book Creator to 0.0.2 (http://code.google.com/p/diy-ebook-creator/downloads/list), adding these features: 1. automatically run scantailor-cli.exe (sorry, Windows-only so far) 2. automatically OCR with ABBYY Finereader 3. properly respond to the Cancel button Here is a (quick...

Re: Building CLI branch on Windows

If you, like me, couldn't find the Scan Tailor Dependencies.sln file, that's because you, Windows user, probably chose MinGW Makefiles instead of Visual Studio 9 2008 as the README suggests:

[VC++]
Select your version of Visual C++ (Visual Studio) instead of "MinGW Makefiles"

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Scan Tailor Command Line Interface

pejuko, Again, awesome software. Another question though... I'm successfully running scantailor-cli.exe 350 times (once per image), but some pages are auto-detected as just the title of the work (e.g. instead of 8.5" x 11" the image is 3" by 2" saying 'CHAPTER 1'), so ABBYY mistakenly sees the page ...

Re: Building CLI branch on Windows

Tulon, My apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place (or asking the wrong person), but the latest scantailor-cli (committed 5 days ago with a folder input option instead of 0001.img, 0002.img, ... -- http://scantailor.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=scantailor/scantailor;a=commit;h=49bb5c...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Scan Tailor Command Line Interface

pejuko, I'd like to try your scantailor-cli input enhancements (http://scantailor.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=scantailor/scantailor;a=commit;h=49bb5c08c69cd822b1287dcb39ddee7754b44754) (committed 5 days ago) but I don't see a windows binary (maybe I'm mistaken?). So, I'm trying to build one...

Re: Framework: DIY E-Book Creator

Sorry for the delay in responding. I have uploaded the git source: http://code.google.com/p/diy-ebook-creator/ Anonymous2 Thanks for the kudos. How are you planning on integrating Scan Tailor into this workflow? I'm still open to ideas, but my initial (maybe naive) thought is to simply use the comma...

Framework: DIY E-Book Creator

Hi Everyone, I just spent the last 3-4 weeks creating an open source "framework" for what I (tentatively) called the DIY E-Book Creator (download: http://code.google.com/p/diy-ebook-creator/). It should be able to integrate into this LiveCD Project. Tulon, Petr, Strider1551, Anonymous1/2, Misty, Rob...
