Re: How to output exact image dimensions

Well, the advice is about, how to output images that as exactly of dimensions you want to obtain after processing in Scan Tailor. Ghost Script is to create a template with proper dimensions. You need to add one extra page fitting to the size. As your input pages have desired sizes, the workflow woul...

Re: How to output exact image dimensions

I guess, you may be interested in this how-to: https://forum.diybookscanner.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3495 . Another solution is to resize output images. E.g. XnView offer batch resizing of images. I would probably use ImageMagick for that: mogrify -path resized/ -density 300 -units PixelsPerInch -re...

My implementation of the Book shooter MK-V design

Inspired by the project presented in the following thread: https://forum.diybookscanner.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3501 , I built my clone of the Book shooter MK-V originally designed by Hiroshi Yanagisawa. Dimensions are pretty the same, however I did not follow all build instructions, using some dif...

Re: cpdf-binaries: PDF Command Line Tools binaries for Linux, Mac, Windows.

Good to know about this program existence. It seems to be a replacement to pdftk, I'm using, but is even richer in functions.
Thank you for this info.

Re: 100-page handwritten guestbook workflow?

I also think that PDF is probably the best solution. When it comes to workflow and tools used, my approach would be probably as follows: 1. Color options I would rather suggest to scan in color than in greyscale. Flatbed scanners usually scan in color and in grayscale with the same speed (correct me...

Re: Book Shooter MK-V by Hiroshi Yanagisawa

iPhone 7 is not equipped with jack audio connector so it may be difficult to find a cable trigger. Maybe lightning jack adapter may help? I haven't tried this. I also encountered some connection problems with this bluetooth shutter, but only minor and find this the most convenient solution.

Re: Book Shooter MK-V by Hiroshi Yanagisawa

Interesting design. How well do the book scans look? I also like this design and made myself similar device. I applied following modifications: 1. made of 3 mm High Impact Polystyrene Sheet (HIPS); 2. the construction is glued and reinforced with screws and L-shaped elements (sheet are rather thin ...

Re: Flattening a wrinkled page

This is my attempt. I used Scan Tailor Experimental and manual mode in ("curved lines") in "Geometric Distortions" section. More patient adjustments of the grid may provide a little bit better result. Maybe Abbyy FineReader and its "Straighten lines" function may do it better? I do not know. The bot...

Re: Opening Scan Tailor in other programes

If I understand it correctly, you need to extract graphics from pages including also text to perform some operations on these pictures with graphics only. Maybe you should think about Scan Tailor Advanced? When mixed output applied (letters to b&w and pictures in color mode) there is an option to sa...
