Re: Acrobat Tips

You could try getting hold of a copy of PitStop Pro by Enfocus, as well as a PDF editor such as the one by Infix. Between them I find that you can edit all the parts of the ClearScanned document that are left as images (with the text embedded invisibly underneath). This isn't really much of a work ...

Re: Acrobat Tips

I changed the properties for importing images into one PDF file to include OCR/Clear Scan in the import process, and it seems to work better. One thing that I found out, though, is that when Clear Scan runs, if it doesn't recognize the font due to some minor alteration, etc., it will create its own ...

Re: SDM and RAW (.crw) files

Straight From the Camera is up and open here. Daniel, could you explain the added functionality (EXIF) you're pursuing as we open this thread? Thanx.

Straight From the Camera

Hi everyone. This thread is being started to give us a place to post images that come 'straight from your camera.' When you post, post an image that has not been manipulated by your pre- or post-processing software/scripts/etc. Take it straight from your memory card and insert it here. What we're t...

Re: SDM and RAW (.crw) files

Looks like EXIF on PHPBB is possible - http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=1107475 - but I'll have to see if it opens us up to any exploits or other problems like high CPU usage. In any case, this seems like a good thing to do for everyone, so i'll probably install it. I'm ready to go wi...

Re: SDM and RAW (.crw) files

Following up on what Dan said re: raw. In my experience, raw is worth it if you're scanning books with colour illustrations where your goal is to get as good a reproduction as possible, but if you're scanning to do Scan Tailor bitonal processing then raw is unnecessary and you would be better off u...

Re: SDM and RAW (.crw) files

Thanks, Daniel. I'll check out his posts and keep tinkering with the whole RAW idea...and try to get my camera supported. I like to have multiple options to choose from as I'm always looking for improvements.

Re: SDM and RAW (.crw) files

It may be that the converter doesn't quite support your camera yet - but that seems unlikely. Thanks Daniel. Well, I looked at the list of supported cameras and I didnt see the A480 on the list...unless I missed it. So as I understand it, the conversion will be dependent on/particular to the model ...

Re: SDM and RAW (.crw) files

You need to convert them to a DNG file: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Q._I.27ve_shot_some_RAW_pictures._How_do_I_process_them.3F Thanks for the info...I've downloaded DNG4PS-2, but it doesn't seem to recognize any of the .crw files on my card or HD; does the model camera used to shoot the files ma...

SDM and RAW (.crw) files

I just bought a WhiBal white balance card (aka neutral gray card) and want to see if it will help in my image processing. The instructions say that it works best with RAW images so I set the SDM cards in my Canon PSA480's to the RAW setting. It appears that it saves the files with the ".crw" file ex...
