Re: HOW TO COMPRESS PDF FILES

A few options: 1. Adobe Acrobat (excluding the free Reader): http://www.websiteoptimization.com/speed/tweak/pdf/optimizer.html 2. Omnipage or ABBYY: Export or Save your PDF without images (text only). Of course, OCR errors reduce legibility. 3. Source images: Reduce source file resolution, convert c...

Re: Portland Party

Daniel, we don't have any pics (yet) of the group, but I'll bring a camera next time around, in case the other members are okay with some pics. Also, anytime you'd like to come visit Portland, just let us know! The beers are on me!

Re: Most Efficient Workflow / Process Available Currently

Thanks JJJM for the Total Commander and Adobe OCR trick. I'll experiment and see what sticks. In the meantime, I'm attaching a video (upload didn't work, see posting below) to show the scanning portion (8 min.) of this workflow. I can currently max about 22 scans (44 pages) per minute, which is 300/...

Re: Most Efficient Workflow / Process Available Currently

Since writing my post above, I have experimented, corrected, and improved this proposal substantially. Feedback welcome! :) NOTE: A=Attended ("your" time), U=Unattended ("CPU" time) Fastest (300 pg book) 1. Scan with SDM using S_FAST* (8 min A) 2. Transfer L and R images to PC (2...

Re: The Purpose of installing SDM StereoData?

Regarding SDM StereoData and efficiency, I consider the following SDM documentation "essential reading" on two-camera rigs: In 'S_FAST' mode, the single-shot photo is taken as soon as a USB voltage is detected, it does not wait for 'switch release'. This is a non-synchronised mode (or at l...

Thanks for posting this Jujumana! Yes, this was a great meeting. Anybody in the Portland area who is interested should definitely contact us. Lucky Lab has good beer.

Zennmaster, if you'd like an extra set of hands when building your scanner, just let me know.
