Re: Tape Collection

The leading edges were also made out of aluminum, so I would get a mirror finish on the tape as well as the leading edge. Anyways I have a big satellite dish in my back yard that I wo...

Re: Tape Collection
I'm a big fan of tape also. My favorite is probably the aluminum foil tape. Some thoughts on duct tape because I use it the most often. I will not buy duct tape unless it is 3M brand you pay a little more but it is well worth the $1.50 extra. I have found a way to keep duct tape edges from sticking ...

Re: Scan Tailor
Kind of. Ok when you apply black and white to a picture, it will take anything close to white and make it white. Also it dose the same thing to black. I was wondering is there anyway to take what it puts out as white, and make that white. But on the other hand take what the program puts out as "...

Re: Scan Tailor
I was wondering if there was a way in scan tailor to take a color document and run black and white, but instead of turning everything into black it would turn it into color. This would make most of the background white, and those little parts that turn black would still be close to white. I'm not su...

Image size in a PDF?
So I have been scanning my text books into the computer. My camera takes pictures at 4000x3000 and after I preform OCR I make the files into searchable image PDF's. This way I can have my reading program read, but still see when I have an OCR error. Anyways my PDF files are huge! I was wondering if ...

Re: Zoom lens vs prime lens - what's the disadvantage to zoom?
I have noticed with my setup that the closer I get the more reflection I get. It's mostly from the cameras being in the light. So I zoom about 2x optical. I don't knowtic any differace other than less reflection.

Re: My first book scanner.
I am using Solidworks. I love it! its fairly simple to use but I have a few years experience. As for price I go to a university that has a student licencing for all students, so I'm lucky it only costs $6,000 a year (to my parents).

So could Misty post the file on a site that is in Canada, and then put a link to it on this site? Just out of curiosity.
