Re: looking for SLR camera
I'd highly recommend Canon G12, its a compact body though. Has really excellent picture quality but the most important thing (atleast for me) is that it has an articulating LCD. You can use the official Canon RS60-E3 remote switch with it, works like a charm!

Re: Tripod recommendation
Macro gives crisp text, and I need that because almost all books I'm doing have colored text that I need to preserve. It wouldn't have mattered if I wanted black and white which I assume does ST does binarization for to improve readability. btw, I just bought Benro A-197 M8 . You can get almost *any...

Tripod recommendation
Hi, I have a regular tripod that doesn't work very well for taking 45 deg macro photographs, I'm looking to buy this ' flex arm ' but not sure if it will help that much. What do you use? Can you please recommended better tripod or other (cheap) accessory that allows taking book photographs with ease...

Re: ST Alternative
It looks like I may have been misunderstood quite a bit. I didn't intend to denigrate Tulon's efforts, it would be a shame not to acknowledge his efforts, but he just recently (a week ago?) stated: "Today I'll make an even stronger statement: I am not implementing any new features at all , unti...

ST Alternative
Hi, So now that Tulon has/is about to "retire" himself from ST, and that there'd be no further development/improvements, I'd like to explore other options. Mainly because ST works wonderfully in most cases but terribly bad in some, and it usually makes a lot of errors in page-splitting and...

The two black lamps you added, what are they called exactly? I can't seem to find lights with clip/clamp at all here.

Synchro-cable for Canon G12
Hi, So I've bought Canon G12's and the Satechi MA-C Remote Switch . One of the remote's feature is the " Support synchro-cable to control 2 cameras simultaneously " but I'm not sure what that means and how to make use of it. Does anyone have any experience with Satechi remotes and the 'syn...

Re: anti-keystoning software
@univurshul
I've just bought Lightroom 3, its an incredible piece of software, but it'll take me a while to figure out all the options. If you have a preset that you use for keystone correction, exposure correction etc... can you share with us?
Thanks!

Re: Conditions for Increased Page Splitting Errors
Yes univurshul, I did try your ideas but the error rate is still too high, especially for this huge book that I'm doing right now. Anyway, I think a "snap to (content?)" feature would be incredibly useful in ST, it should just like Photoshop's 'snap to guides' feature. I understand the alg...
