Re: scanning and downloading at the same time
I'm wondering if you're actually having the same problem Gerad was having. His cards weren't sending any pictures at all until he either took a break or finished his sessions. Basically he couldn't be taking pictures and having them stream at the same time. It sounds like you can, but your pics are...

Re: Minimum Camera for Book Scanning
Ok, I have CHDK loaded onto an A495. I have figured out how to set the subject distance override, but the camera will still autofocus when the shutter is pressed, and then apply the override. Does anyone know how to disable autofocus on these cameras completely?

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time
Ok, I've formatted the Eye-Fi card, put CHDK on it, and made it bootable. So my A495 now boots CHDK on startup, but doesn't have endless memory mode. That's ok, as I plan to use a remote trigger that will run a script to clear the camera memory when you hold the trigger down for 5 seconds. Making th...

Re: Red shift...
Looks fantastic, equally jealous. Do you have final measurements for your glass? I have no tools so I've asked the shop that is cutting the parts to assemble the frames for me, and I'd like to provide them with all the hardware and glass in advance of cutting - so obviously, your measurements would ...

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time
I think the delay might be camera-specific - I'm using an A495. It's about 10 seconds whether endless memory mode is enabled or not. I'm thinking about booting CHDK to see if that fixes the problem. The only problem with that is endless memory mode is not compatible with a FAT-16 formatted bootable ...

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time
Firmware is updated. The router is about 4 feet away, and it behaves the same way whether it is connected through my router or directly to my macbook air.
I'm using a 4gb X2.
I'm poking around the forums, I will post here if I turn something up.

Re: scanning and downloading at the same time
I'm having a similar issue to Gerard - the pictures don't start to transfer until a few seconds after the last photo has been taken. Not sure why this would be the case, but it's something I need to solve.

Re: Camera Triggering
Nevermind, Frans charges extra for cables longer than 1 meter, so I'm just ordering that length. I would have gone with the brake cable but I am worried about hand strain after a few hours of continuous scanning. I plan to integrate a foot pedal into my build later on for totally hands-free triggeri...

Re: Camera Triggering
I want to order a Vandenkamp switch for my new scanner build. Has anyone used these on the new CNC scanner?
I'm estimating that 6 foot cables will be plenty long but maybe not?

Finally understand what this is about - for confirmation, with this method it's unnecessary to cut any of the "fixtures" drawings from GaryK's release?
