Re: Master Index of All Scanner Builds.

I hope you also have a look at the wiki, the link is on top of the page. And if you want to explore a few "how to build" pages have a look here: Scanner build list wiki
The wiki is still under development but there are a few already done to get you started.

Re: Fix Keystoning via hardware adjustments

Jay, Would you please be so kind to put your calculations into a spreadsheet? In such a way that when you enter some of the measurements it will calculate the others/result. Can you explain which theorum of Pythagoras you have been using? Have a look at Pythagorean Theorem to help you pick out the r...

Re: Science! Or, a new page on the wiki for technical works

Good morning Rob, Since you started the new Wiki page Science! and showing to be a crack in mathematics, could you make a worksheet which calculates sides a and b if one part (the lenght of c) of the cradle is given ? Preferatly when the angle of bc is 45 degrees. See picture below for the naming of...

Where to find glass or acrylic

I found 2 manufacturers of special glass and acrylic. Mind you it isn't cheap. Both are used at exhibitions and by artists. http://www.claryl.com/us/ for the us, look on the webpage for other countries and dealers. http://www.tru-vue.com/Tru-Vue/For-Your-Home/ same. Claryl, 2mm thick, will cost in m...

Re: Debate: camera positioning -- flexible vs. fixed

My suggestion is to have several points for the camera to mount. To keep the cameralens middle (imaginary crosshair) pointed towards the book diagonal center you need a flexible mounting position. The bookpage has an 45 degree angle, so the camera needs to be fixed in an 45 degree angle to ensure th...

Re: Do we actually need portable cameras ?

Update: I myself have to swallow my words. I have found something which enables you to take pictures with your phonecamera (i.e. Sony Satio) from a tripod. It is called in an advertisement in my country a Walimex with tableclamp, and is for sale for a mere € 2,50 without sending cost. http...

Re: Ion Book Saver is out?

I don'tknow where you are looking because with Google youcan easily find the right page. http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/book-saver It isn't very interesting because of the low resolution the pictures are taken with. Also there is no extra light to enhance quality of the pictures taken. You...

Re: Portable Tabletop Scanner

Congratulations, what a simplicity. I start doubting on the decision of my scanner. This is very temping. Could you explain how you calculated the lenght of the acrylic? Because desk drawers have a certain size which you have to take in consideration. Oh, sorry now I see there is no need to take tha...

Re: Newspaper digitization project

Yes, I did in the past and it works best if you have an overlap of the pictures. So taking 3 pictures with an overlap of say 10% will work, especially when there are straight lines in the pictures. However I think 2 camera's will also do the trick with the sdm software taking pictures at the same ti...

Re: "New Standard Build" Day 1 problems

I am still in the proces of reading Drake's build and will start next week building the base and the cradle so I can not answer your questions yet. I hope the original builders can and will. My first thought coming up when I see your questions on the column is, do you have a different thickness then...
