Re: Framework: DIY E-Book Creator

Ahhh, I don't have ABBY. Well, I have a version that came with a SnapScan unit but it won't process images from other sources and it crashes on launch in my current version of Lion. Looking into that, but it likely won't help with this workflow. In all honesty, since I have a license for Win7 I prob...

Re: Framework: DIY E-Book Creator

If one wanted to take the source to work with on OSX, what do you do? I have installed Django and put the source in my site-packages, but where is the frontend or launch point? :) [update: seems to be something like: cd /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/diy; python manage.py runserver 8080 but I get...

Re: A DIY Book Scanner In Every Hackerspace /DIY Kit

Great, rob, that does help. Thinking about the bolts that just insert into the wood to act as supports for the pulley/supports, would it be more solid/durable to use some tee nuts or some kind of threaded insert? Maybe it is not an issue and I'm over-thinking it. I'll look into suitable clasps/hasps...

Re: A DIY Book Scanner In Every Hackerspace /DIY Kit

Thanks to rob a kit on the way to me this week. Can't wait to dig into it. :) If anyone else is looking to get one all I can say is that he has been an absolute pleasure to deal with and I am sure if there are any issues he will make things right, but I am not anticipating any. However, having bough...

Re: A DIY Book Scanner In Every Hackerspace /DIY Kit

You're welcome. Somebody (and that would be me) really needs to commend Rob for his incredible work on this machine lately. He's really gone the extra mile making documentation, programming the new artwork, working out bugs AND selling really, really great kits. Someone is selling kits for this now...

Re: Building Scan Tailor on OSX

I would love to follow your instructions, but where is the source tree that you speak of? It's not the same as the official sourceforge one, no? Yes, in the source code tree under packaging/osx. See the README. It is possible that minor changes need to be made, especially if you are on Lion as thos...

Re: ScanTailor for OSX is here

I installed using the instructions in the first post of this thread. It seems like some of the images obtained from Googlebooks were rather awkward: some of them in jpg made ST crash on my minipc, while it had no problem with the particular PGN. Did you dl the that image I and run your OSX version ...

Re: ScanTailor for OSX is here

The OSX version crashed when I tried to work on a folder with images in mixed formats. Tried the same thing on my pc, where it went smoothly. Which "osx" version are using? One you built, one I built, or another? Version and location you downloaded it from would be helpful. Thanks. I just...

Re: Building Scan Tailor on OSX

There should not be a need for the quotes around the regex unless you have a space in your boost library directory name which is not the case with a standard installation. But it wouldn't hurt I suppose. LoL As to 64-bit builds, I was able to get everything to build as universal 32/64-bit, but the Q...
