Re: Editing now disabled

Nope. I just posted something in Software, and there is no edit button to be clicked.

Re: Introducing djvubind for djvu file creation

I've been experimenting with djvubind. There is a few issues I ran into sometimes. I am glad to help. If you wouldn't mind, file these on the tracker as two separate issues. The bug report form will prompt some more specific information that will help me to understand what the situation is, you can...

Re: pdfbeads - format of metadata file

Ah, many thanks Misty. I would never have thought to look at the Russian docs... the code itself if I got frustrated enough, but not Russian.

pdfbeads - format of metadata file

Does anyone know the format expected by pdfbeads for the file passed by --meta? While I'm asking, anyone know the format for --labels? I had that figured out at one point but can't find my reference anymore. EDIT: Never mind on the labels, found what I needed (http://rubydoc.info/gems/pdfbeads/1.0.3...

Re: scanning to search

Am I better off leaving the book as a single .pdf or is their any easy way to break the different letters into separate .pdfs during the post-scanning process? Given your application, I would keep them as separate PDF files (mind you, I'm thinking one PDF per letter, not per page). If they are all ...

Re: Board Format

Is there any way to change this to a nested format so I can see who's replying to who? I don't have any dealings with administering the forum, but I would be really surprised if that's possible. This is a forum, not an email list. Each post is simple an addition to the thread; there is no way to re...

Re: Book Scanning - What You Can and Cannot Do

I also would love to see research done on this by someone with legal training. It would also be an excellent thing to compile for the wiki. I think the reason we haven't discussed it much is because the community is very diverse and each country is going to have its own laws. The United States proba...

Re: Outline of software to use

Are you interested in a particular platform (Linux, Mac, Windows) or a specific file format (Djvu, PDF, etc.)?

I did write up a walk through of how I do things on the wiki a while ago, but I'm a Linux and Djvu user which isn't the most common setup.

Re: Need help with colored text and border

Wow... that is a challenge. The brown color is so close to the black, and is slightly lighter on the left of the image than the right. You may not want to palletize the colors (reduce them to a limited number). Ordinarily, most people reduce their books to bitonal (black/white) for the greatly reduc...

Re: All threads that mention LiveCD/Linux development

Has there been that much discussion of a LiveCD, apart from threads about Linux-specific software?

The few threads I know of:
