It's in the pipeline and working on my machine, though its pre-alpha and I'm not yet comfortable pushing it to GitHub.
I expect it to be ready for prime time until June at the latest.

Re: A new scanner design using plastic tubing
HOWEVER - you could fit any camera to this setup, and a friend is looking with me at putting a pair of Canon DSLRs (possible second hand Canon 550D) cameras, becuase these can be programmed with CHDK. What ideally I would like is to have a single mouse push that would fire both cameras, and bring u...

Re: Introducing spreads: command-line workflow tool
shesgottageek, you can access the latest revision here: http://github.com/DIYBookScanner/spreads The jbaiter/spreads is my personal fork where I put experimental branches, it hasn't seen updates in over a week. As for the A4000, try out the vanilla 'chdkcamera' driver, it seems to work fine for the ...

Re: A DIY Book Scanner In Every Hackerspace /DIY Kit
Thanks for the suggestion mera, I haven't taken a closer look at SWIG yet. My only experience with it stems from some "bundled" bindings for C++ libraries, and to be honest they were always pretty much horrible :-/ Could be that that was mainly due to lack of care of the authors and not sw...

Re: SpreadPi: The new DIY Book Scanner control system.
Great video Daniel, thank you so much for taking the time :-) Just two minor remarks: The main repository for spreads is DIYBookScanner/spreads , not jbaiter/spreads . The latter has not been updated in quite a while The time between the triggering of a capture and the display of the view images in ...

Re: A DIY Book Scanner In Every Hackerspace /DIY Kit
Tell you what, do you have any programming talent in your organization? If you want to use Nikon D800's, you'll ideally want to control them via computer. The best way to do that is via Gphoto2. We need a Gphoto2 plugin for Spreads, our new scanner control system. If you knew someone who could make...

Re: Introducing spreads: command-line workflow tool
One question though, has anybody done anything to get the canon EOS line running with it? My pair of EOS600's (Rebel T3i) is aching to get some use.. :) As Daniel already mentioned above, spreads' architecture makes it pretty easy to add support for non-CHDK as well. In the case of the EOS600, I wo...

Re: RK3188 & Software
We are working on it :-) Right now we're focusing on getting spreads to run on the Raspberry Pi in combination with a more powerful machine on the network for the postprocessing. Those results should transfer to other embedded ARM-Boards pretty well, though, and if desired the postprocessing can be d...

Re: Spreads on Linux Mint: First Impressions
It's a known issue with a newer version of the 'stevedore' package.
Matti was so friendly as to push a fix to GitHub this morning, so you might want to install spreads from there until we are ready to ship a new version.

Re: Introducing spreads: command-line workflow tool
That's due to an API change in one of the modules that I use. I have a fix ready but I still need to merge it into the master branch on GitHub, which will probably be in the next few days.
