Re: Bitonal conversion using Photoshop (Gimp & Imagemagic...
I found a way to address these two points (change mode to bitonal when needed and save file in non-batch mode)
I'll upload a new version soon

Re: Bitonal conversion using Photoshop (Gimp & Imagemagic...
HI Benedictus, thanks for your feedback! You are right, the output mode of my script is grayscale, because after converting RGB to Grayscale I leave it as is. Is the filesize difference very significant? Maybe I can try and reconvert the file to Bitonal before saving. I just did not see the need for...

Re: fuzzy letters
Hi frida, I see several things that could be worth investigating: - first, do you correctly calculate and enter the dpi in Scantailor when importing the files, as described in the video tutorial? http://vimeo.com/12524529 - your image is not consistently in focus: the upper part is softer than the b...

Re: Bitonal conversion using Photoshop (Gimp & Imagemagic...
Sorry, sorry, sorry... there was a parameter missing in the batch bitonal converter and it didn't work anymore.
Here is the correct v.0.3:

Re: Bitonal conversion using Photoshop (Gimp & Imagemagic...
A few changes, so I made a new version. The biggest change is the ability for the single image converter (not batch) to handle images in the middle of the text. This is an equivalent to the "mixed" output in ScanTaylor, except you'll have to select the images a la mano  It is intended...

It's interesting I think. Open-source and commercial projects can coexist... the contribution method is just different (and I think I'm probably not the only one on this forum working for a commercial SW company...)
I would be curious about the pricing...
