Re: Introducing spreads: command-line workflow tool
I am getting closer but still have a problem. My cameras are configured as right & left now and I get to the point where I am able to capture images. But when I am done capturing and hit a button to quit I get a lot of error messages. I hope someone can see what the messages mean. Starting captu...

Re: Introducing spreads: command-line workflow tool
Hi jbaiter, I have a kit from MarkDVB but I have not been scanning anything the last 5-6 months. I am back now and I was glad to see that this tool was released. I have a dedicated Ubuntu 12.04lts machine for my scanner. I have tried to follow this guide http://spreads.readthedocs.org/en/latest/tuto...

Re: Uneven light
Sorry. My explanation was not very good. What I was meaning to say was that by adding this 20w LED I solved a couple of problems that I had with regular book scanning. With the original 10w I had to use slow shutter times on my A2200 camera because the scans got very dark and the quality was not goo...

Re: Uneven light
No the new LED is larger so I have just removed the top and balancing the LED between the top LED Holders. I have to make something more permanent but I am just testing now to find the best setup. I think this setup works better than the original for me because of two things. 1. more light helps my ...

Re: Uneven light
spomwii, I'm very interested in fixing this lighting problem for hackerspace scanner owners. Do you also have the standard 10W LED that is included with the kit? Yes I have the standard 10w LED. I bought the kit From Mark. But after a lot of testing on comic books I had to buy a new more powerful L...

Re: Uneven light
Light intensity falls off at 1/d^2, where 'd' is the distance. So moving the light source farther away from the page will decrease the intensity difference between the leading edge of the page and the gutter. This can help, but likely won't eliminate it. Other things to try would be to diffuse the ...

Wrong LED type?
I ordered this from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006STWHE4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 for extra lighting to my scanner. Under product features it show that the LED has "Color temperature: 6,000K - Cool White light" But when I tried it the light looks very Yellow unlike the LED ...
