Re the book moving during page turns. The problem isn't the platen rolling but rather the book sliding ever so gently backward if I (by mistake) push it during the page turn. See my picture below. Just to make I understand the problem correctly: In the original book the text area is the same on even and odd pages?

If that's the case the problem should be solved by giving ScanTailor the correct DPI for even and odd pages and the problem should be solved.

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to these things and DJVU is not something I have an interest in but PDF I do. And I can see this being very usefull down the road for a lot of people. So the least I can do is encourage you to go on
