Simple DSLR Camera Based Book Scanner

Post by dslr_scanner »

Hello everybody!
I would like to present my construction with which I have currently digitized books. With a remote control you can work very convenient & fast. For each book I cut a template of white paper (for better page recognition), post-processing with Scan Tailor.

Hallo Nachbar!

Is the book then pressed under the glass by hand, and with the knees?

How is the remote control being triggered? With the feet?

Hello neighbor
yes the book is pressed under the glass by hand and knees, 15 to 20 pages can be digitized in one minute.
The pages are flipped with the left hand, Remote control is being triggered with the right hand (Book and remote control can be held together).
A foot switch I have also tried, but this is "very uncomfortable" for the leg.

Hi,
This sounds like a great way to get digital copies of a book...
