Monson's Servo Auto Scanner

Built a scanner? Started to build a scanner? Record your progress here. Doesn't need to be a whole scanner - triggers and other parts are fine. Commercial scanners are fine too.

Great work, as usual. Is the large offset to accommodate your robotic arms/stuff?

There are really two separate bases that slide-adjust to fit different book sizes.

Air blasts replace mechanical page flipper and page flattener. Pneumatics salvaged from my first auto-scanner build. http://www.diybookscanner.org/forum/vie ... f=14&t=940

New 75 degree cradle angle. Pressers now feature slides that contact the pages and prevent the paper from folding up in the gutter as the pressers wedge down.

Excellent! Do you have to adjust the wheel assembly for the thickness of the book?

Thanks, mjklin. Don't have to adjust for thickness but do have to adjust for page size. The rubber wheel pusher works best when it hits the page close to the corner.

Do you have a latest instruction/parts file to share?

I found one for an earlier one but not # 8 or I must really be over looking it.

I really like the idea of the robotic one.

Thanks

I keep revising stuff. Now working on a prototype constructed without plywood.
