"Rahle"

Built a scanner? Started to build a scanner? Record your progress here. Doesn't need to be a whole scanner - triggers and other parts are fine. Commercial scanners are fine too.

"Rahle"

Post by aguncan »

I have been thinking for a while on a portable diy book scanner. Last night I have found an idea. In Turkey people use a wooden stand for reading books etc called "rahle" a kind of lectern (I dont know exact translation). I have uploaded pictures below. It is simple and portable and can be built in different size with a piece of wood.

Did you check nalfonso's portable scanner?

maybe is helpful for you, and also is well documented.

Yup, my mom has one of those. It's a good book holder, but it doesn't cover the lighting / camera mounting issues in building a book scanner.
