DIY Book Scanner

Hi, i'm new to this but decided to make a very simple book scanner to digitize my course literature for school.

I'm using a smart phone holder with a flexible arm to hold my phone for the moment.

the base is two separate pieces with a hinged stand with a 90 degree angle.

The platen is a hinged piece of plexi glass that can be folded on one side and locked to 90 degrees the other way. Two paracords keep the platen from folding back together.

The stand have a piece of fabric on top that is also used to protect the platen during transport.

Everything folds up nicely

Any tips or suggestions to make it better?

Use a place to store images permanently in order to show them in this forum.

This post is a bit of a cluster. Can someone remove the thread. I will post another thread when there is time. But this thread is not up to snuff.
