4 Hours Ago I had Junk and Now I have

Built a scanner? Started to build a scanner? Record your progress here. Doesn't need to be a whole scanner - triggers and other parts are fine. Commercial scanners are fine too.

I'm encouraged by your post - everyone seems like the A590 is the divine camera for this application. I don't know, at 8MP, and at the price (even for refurbed), It seemed to me that the A490 [edit: I got A480's not A490's] was a far better price-value deal. 10MP - I picked up a pair for $65/ea over at Buy.com. They haven't arrived, and I haven't even started construction on a rig yet, but I hope that they prove a good fit for the purpose.

we're all interested in replacing the A590 as the camera of choice, so please let us know your experiences. $65 each is a steal.

Platen was a complete disaster lol.

Anyways the reason I am using the A590, well to be honest is because I already had one and everyone else is using it lol.

I moved your thread to Hardware, since it is a build thread. Cheers.

Thank You,

Sunday is going to be fun day.....

Well the problem is summer school is starting to become more intense so my time for this project is becoming limited. I really do not want this project go into the "Fail" pile because of my lack of time. I start fall semester very soon which will give me no time for this project so this Sunday will be the only day I will be able to complete this project. So this is going to be intense....

So here is the last couple of bits that i bought. I no longer have a budget for anything because fall my tuition has increased and money is TIGHT so hopefully i can finish this before it become a junk pile and ebay listings.

Here is another Camera and Tripod
Camera had lense error i managed to take it apart clean it and runs like new. ($38.25 ebay Camera $11.90 Tripod)

This one was a epic fail!!! The 7in screens are a DVD player and a Monitor so the DVD player has no Input!! and it only came with a Car adapter. I had a UPS with a busted battery, so I managed to find another 12v lead battery which is the wrong size and hooked it up and then using alligator clips i plug it into the car adapter. Screens worked. ($56.99 Ebay)
