Handle Electronics Find

Post by carnstar » 30 Dec 2009, 11:19

Hi Everybody,

My first post. Hello from Dickinson, ND! My dad and I started our build a couple of days ago. Hope to put some pictures up when we get the chance.

I just found this on amazon via the stereo data make website:

http://www.amazon.com/Ricoh-CA-1-Switch ... B0009RNATW

Seems like a pretty reasonable price at $24.95. Below, there is a splitter and attachment on offer for $27.99.

Anyone have any experience with this device? If not, I'll pick it up and tell everybody how it worked.

David Sykes (Author of SDM) has recommended that unit a couple times in his Yahoo Group. It's well regarded among SDM/CHDK users... and that's a pretty good price. Go for it. You could also manually split the cable if you liked.

Dickinson, ND, represent! Please send pictures of your machine as soon as possible! It will be the 4th in ND... my two, Aaron Clarke's, and yours!

Wow, that is a tailor-made device for the scanner.

Here's the details from SDM's website:
http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/ca1.htm

From SDM's website, the usage in Direct (Ricoh) mode is: "For the Ricoh, half-press to focus, full-press to start shooting-sequence and release to take photo."
