1. DSLR is fast. Focusing and shooting takes a fraction of a second.

what i don't like
1. dslr is heavy. For my face-down scanning it's rather good than bad, but with a 'classic' face-up design camera must be mounted on the very strong stands to avoid shaking.
2. point and shoot cameras usually got DC adapter outlet. Canon dslr need a special battery adapter for that.
3. dslr is expensive to kill it and the lens (autofocus) doing thousands of scans every day. Powershot priced at $100 is perfect for that
