Can Canon A2500 capture in grayscale

Everything camera related. Includes triggers, batteries, power supplies, flatbeds and sheet-feeding scanners, too.

Can Canon A2500 capture in grayscale

Post by rcull »

I am wondering if it is possible to capture the scans in grayscale rather than color, if so, where?
I am running Pi-Scan 1.5 with a setup similar to Tenrec.

Thanks

Sorry for not responding sooner on the other thread.

When I was developing Pi Scan, there seemed to be no benefit to grayscale mode on the cameras. The images were not appreciably smaller and the delay on capture was not any quicker. So I decided not to include it.

So I'd recommend changing to grayscale on post-processing. If you are using Marker Crop then there is already an option. And there are many easy ways to do it and add it to your post-processing workflow if it isn't there.

However, if you do want to try doing it on the cameras themselves I don't think Pi Scan actually touches that setting at all. So I'd try turning on the cameras and leaving the Pi off. Then using the cameras menus enable grayscale. And then turning on the Pi and capturing should result in grayscale images.
