Maybe I'm stupid, but in this kind of design, how do one guarantee that only one page is picked at a time. It's hard enough doing manually sometimes!

I dig the old school animation! Drawn by hand? But I don't see from the animation how the page grabber is supposed to access the page and still not collide with the platen mechanism. I'm also unsure if a simple circular motion would work for the grabber because book pages are normally curved.
