See the "No" in 4th column for the line SX130IS here http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CameraFeatureTable . You can try using TwoCamControl without direct download of images to the PC. Instead you'd then save them to the SD cards and later manually transfer them all over to the PC in one go outside of TwoCamControl. To try that save to camera mode uncheck the "PC save" checkbox in the setup tab.

It may be possible to add filewrite support to certain cameras by improving the CHDK firmware. That is something you'd have to ask about in the CHDK forums and would likely also involve you spending time testing firmware code on your cameras.
Oh thank you! It really works when I donť save it to PC. It saves those images right to the SD card, which is not so bad...

Btw I did try both stable and newest chdks, several versions of chdkptps and I operate with two firmwares - c and f. Everything gives the same error on PC transfer.

I also had to remove -cmdwait=600 from rsint options. It caused another error. Now it works well.

The photos are a little bit dark, I'll go ahead and try to tweak it.

@Jerzy, if you are able to test a new CHDK version I can try to add support for filewrite task.
I need to know the firmware version of your cameras, after that I'll post a test version to chdk forum.

Hi guys, I'm back at this after putting it down a loooooong time ago. this is a project I keep starting on and the walking away from and well I guess Im back on it. I had some issues with my last laptop and so I had to get a "new/old" laptop to start from scratch. looking for some help as I dont even remember how I got as far as I did last time.

I have two canon powershot sd780 IS, cameras. and Im working on a laptop running windows 7 64 bit.

My two main questions as of right now are;

From
https://github.com/nod5/TwoCamControl/releases
Am I suppoed to download all 3 links? mainly I'm asking about "souce code (zip)" and "source code (tar.gz)" Do I need both?

And also in the Help section of TCC under DEPENDENCIES step 5 reads;

"5. Only if you want to run/build TwoCamControl from source:
Install AutoHotkey https://autohotkey.com and save the .ahk with UTF-8 BOM encoding"

I think this is one of the spots I failed on last time i tried this. So my question is. How important is it that I have autohotkey? is it a night and day difference and i should go through the trouble to learn about it and install it or is it something I can get by without?

I was able to get CHDK working on the cameras last time i remember that. I could turn them on and access all the cool extra features. I was never able to get the workdirectory path or path to chdkptp.exe right or at least get verification where i was going wrong. Also I think i was losing it with autohotkey last time cause I dont know jack about coding or writing scripting or whatever. Im a novice but I can pick up stuff given the right direction. So anyways. If someone could help out with those two question I guess that would get me started. Please and thank you. It's appreciated.

You only need TwoCamControl.exe from that page.

If you use TwoCamControl.exe then you don't need to install AutoHotkey as an extra step.
cannon_cowboy wrote: 03 Dec 2018, 04:54 How important is it that I have autohotkey? is it a night and day difference
No difference, since TwoCamControl.exe itself includes AutoHotkey.

Background:
AutoHotkey is the programming language I use to create TwoCamControl. The program source code is a text file with the extention .ahk and you can read it here https://github.com/nod5/TwoCamControl/b ... ontrol.ahk .

There are two ways to run the program.
1. If the PC has AutoHotkey already installed you can download and doubleclick the .ahk file to run the program.
2. To make it easier for people to run the program without having to go through an extra step of installing AutoHotkey the programmer can compile the .ahk code into an .exe (executable) file for users to download and use as is. That's what I've done with TwoCamControl.exe

The program has the same features either way.

hi guys, happy new year. I'm back and i'm stuck again. I am not sure how I am supposed to connect the cameras. specifically I mean, are the cameras supposed to be turned on already when I connect them with a usb to the computer? or should they be off? after installing the drivers using zadig idk what to do. I installed the drivers for one camera and now I cant see the option to install the drivers for the second camera under zadig any more. My cameras dont show up in my directory any more when i connect them and turn them on. I can see external hard drives and my wireless mouse works from the same usb port. but when I connect my camera...nothing shows up.

I am not able to remove the driver either. when installing everything was as described but when trying to uninstall there is nothing under device manager showing as libusb-win32.

If I connect the camera with a usb and I turn it on get the serial number when trying to set it up but I then get an error message.

I have some screen capter vids to show better. Any feedback or direction would be appreciated.

Just a heads up, in the links, the video runs faster than the audio for some reason.

Hello
I turn on camera before I lunch TCC or CHDK pc software , it is not necesery to cameras are turn on when You connect them to PC by USB. I have still conected by USB and I only turn on cameras when it is necesery.
Before You instal drivers connect only one camera , click the edit checkbox in zadig ane set the name of camera ex. "camera 1" , after You instal the cameras plug off this one and connect the second one and set the other name. Cameras shoud have different names.
I suppouse it is necesery to connect cameras, turn them on and then they will be to see it in device meneger - then it is possible to uninstal drivers.

Yes like bartek158 suggested install the driver on the cameras separately.
- Plug in only the first camera via USB to the Windows PC, power on the camera and then install LibUSB driver using these instructions http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/PTP_Extensio ... or_Windows . That page also has steps on how to remove the driver.
- Power off and then unplug the first camera.
- Plug in and power in the second camera and install LibUSB driver.

Once you have successfully installed LibUSB you can continue with the remaining dependencies step and then the one time setup steps.
https://github.com/nod5/TwoCamControl#dependencies
https://github.com/nod5/TwoCamControl#r ... camcontrol

My instructions in the linked paragraphs are short so here are a few more details. If I'm still missing some step in the instruction let me now or feel free to ask. I'll update the help page instructions with these and other details at a later time.

- For the one time setup steps start TwoCamControl and click on the "Setup" tab.
- First set a project work directory by typing or copying and pasting the full folder path into the field in TwoCamControl.
- Second set the full file path to your chdkptp.exe file.
- Third to set the right camera serial: Take the camera you will later place to the right of the book when you scan. Plug in only that camera (not the other camera) to the PC with USB. Then power on the camera. After that press the button "Setup" on the setup tab in TwoCamControl. The field below the button will now show the cameras unique serial number that TwoCamControl later on will use to send commands to each camera correctly. If there is an error see the FAQ in TwoCamControl help on how to troubleshoot the error and an alternative way to get the serial number.
- After those setup steps close TwoCamControl and power off the camera.

You are then ready to use TwoCamControl. Plug in both cameras again, power them on and start TwoCamControl and press "connect".

Note: Windows updates may at some later time overwrite the LibUSB driver with its own driver. At least that seems to have happened for some users in the past. If that happens just redo the LibUSB installation for each camera at a time once again, using the steps above. You don't have to redo the setup steps in TwoCamControl.
