Really nice.
Beside the image lens capability, the smooth line feature capability may be of use when dealing with character rasterization.
In the same vein, I wonder if somebody already explored the new OpenCV 3 functionalities. The python port is just out, have not time yet to test this.

murgen: Tulon who wrote Scan Tailor describe the types of algorithms it uses here so that is a good start if you want to try to reproduce them with new features from opencv3.
