Scanning/processing on Android phone/tablet
I'm developing Android application for complete book processing workflow (useful in libraries etc).
Currently implemented camera image processing with various filters, every filter can be added/removed, enabled/disabled and configured with immediate result display.
For now available regular filters (brightness/gray/mono (several algorithms),rotation/crop etc).
More sophisticated (dekeystoning/dewarping/deskew/despeckle etc) are planned.
Download/test APK (works on Android > 4.2):

I don't want to discourage the bookscanner, but I had recently seen a software by Adobe for this. How does that compare to yours?

Adobe Scan? I don't know, it requires registration. As I understand, its more automatic, without full control / fine tuning of applied filters, and its not standalone, some operations (OCR etc) require connection to Adobe services/cloud

Long click on left checkbox - remove filter.
Long click on filter/parameter name shows its description

Added support for Bluetooth shutter (enabled by "trig" checkbox).

Re: Scanning/processing on Android phone/tablet
Without reading your post about your excellent efforts on building an Android application for scanning I found earlier this year in 2020 an Android app called vFlat which does a pretty good job making a picture, removing fingers and correct some warping of the page.

Don't get fooled with the sample movie. You still need a glass plate te keep pages as straight as possible
