n9yty, I appreciate all your efforts! The only reason I went the Xcode/MacPorts route is that I found those instructions on the sourceforge page. I was unaware of your instructions. At this point, I am lazy and afraid of breaking my working build environment, if that is what it's called. I'm not a programmer and probably should leave well enough alone.
